Patricia Beites Do Pio was born in France to Portuguese immigrant parents. Her life has taken her across many countries – from Belgium to Turkey and many other places. But what defines her most is her experience as the child of immigrants. Her family’s history under Portugal’s Salazar dictatorship and economic adversities have shaped her deepest empathy for those facing today’s geopolitical struggles. It is this legacy that guides her voice and fuels her desire to tell stories that connect past and present, pain and hope.
